CATEGORY 1: THE "GOLD STANDARD" BRIGHTENERS (Pigment Inhibitors)

This mask contains a "stack" of four different brightening agents that work on different pathways to stop pigmentation.

ARBUTIN

Function: A hydroquinone derivative found in bearberry plants. It inhibits tyrosinase, the enzyme needed to produce melanin. It prevents dark spots from forming and fades existing ones gently.

KOJIC DIPALMITATE

Function: A stable derivative of Kojic Acid (originally from mushrooms). It is another potent tyrosinase inhibitor. It works well with Arbutin because it attacks the pigment production process at a slightly different point, creating a "double blockade" against dark spots.

HEXYLRESORCINOL

Function: A synthetic brightening agent that is structurally similar to resorcinol. Studies suggest it is even more effective at inhibiting tyrosinase than some prescription brighteners. It also has strong antioxidant properties.

GLUTATHIONE

Function: The "master antioxidant." It lightens skin by converting the type of melanin you have (eumelanin = dark/brown) to a lighter color (pheomelanin = yellow/red). It also neutralizes the free radicals that trigger pigmentation.

ASCORBIC ACID & ASCORBYL PALMITATE

Function: Pure Vitamin C and a stable ester form. Vitamin C brightens by reducing melanin formation and protecting the skin from UV damage. It also boosts collagen.

RETINOL

CI 77891 (TITANIUM DIOXIDE)

Function: A white mineral pigment. In a mask, it acts as a physical brightener. It sits on top of the skin and reflects light, making the skin look instantly brighter, fairer, and more even-toned immediately after washing off the mask.

CI 77019 (MICA)

Function: Crushed mineral that gives a shimmering, pearlescent glow. This is responsible for the "illuminated" or "glass skin" effect you see right after use.

CI 77861

Function: Likely a treated titanium dioxide or tin oxide that enhances the pearlescent effect.

TOURMALINE EXTRACT

Function: A gemstone powder. It is claimed to emit negative ions and far-infrared rays, which are said to boost microcirculation and help active ingredients absorb better. It adds to the "high-tech luxury" narrative.
