Laser hair removal is permanent!  It can replace those temporary solutions such as shaving, waxing other ongoing hair removal methods.

Whether you’re suffering from excessive hair growth, you don’t want to waste hours on other hair removal methods, or in-growns and irritation are making you feel self-conscious, your laser technician will work with you to treat you as efficiently and comfortably as possible. We deliver pulses of laser energy to the area being treated to disable the follicle and prevent it from producing hair again. Over the course of several sessions, we can target hairs as they’re in their active growth phase ensuring they don’t come back.

In addition to zapping hair at the root, the dermal heating from the laser tightens skin, shrinks pores, boosts cell turnover to heal scars from nicks and ingrown hairs, eliminates bacteria and blemishes and leaves you glowing.

Radiant Belle Med Spa uses a medical grade high tech InMode Diolaze laser hair removal machine, so laser hair removal is available to everyone, regardless of skin or hair type, and the process is faster, safer and more effective than ever before. Whether your skin is fair or dark, we’ve got you covered.

FAQ

Do I require a Consultation?

Yes, all new clients for our laser skin removal services require a consultation prior to commencing treatment. Our consultation is complimentary and will provide you with a full understanding of the Laser Hair Removal process.

What type of Laser do you use for Hair Removal?

We use the InMode Diolaze medical grade laser. The InMode Diolaze laser is safe for all skin types.

How Effective Is Laser Hair Removal?

Laser hair removal eliminates hair permanently. Instead of only removing the hair – as with shaving or waxing – the laser heats up the hair follicles, rendering them inactive and unable to grow hair. The number of hairs are reduced with each treatment. Most clients require between 5 - 8 sessions. Here’s a fun fact for you: Not all hairs are actively growing at the same time and they actually go through three distinct phases: growth, regression and resting. Laser hair removal treatments work by disabling the hair in its active growth phase (only 20% of body hairs are in active growth cycle at once). Since other hairs will enter this active growth phase at different times, additional treatments may be necessary to disable all of the hair follicles in a given area.

How Does Laser Hair Removal Work?

Laser hair removal uses technology in which a beam of light is applied to unwanted hair on various parts of the body. This light is a specific wavelength that targets the melanin—the pigment in the hair that gives it colour—in the hair follicle. When the light enters the follicle, it is converted to heat energy that inactivates the follicle, preventing the hair from growing again.

There are three stages of hair growth. They are: Anagen—active growth; Catagen—a brief phase in which growth stops and resting begins, and Telogen—a resting phase in which no further growth occurs. In order for laser treatments to be effective, hair must be in the active growth stage—Anagen. Because individual hairs are at different stages of growth at any given time, multiple laser treatments are required to target all of them when they are in the Anagen stage.

How Long Do the Laser Hair Removal Effects Last?

Laser hair removal is permanent. However, hormonal changes can cause hair growth in places where it wasn’t previously growing. Also, there may be some hair that was not in the Anagen phase when any of the treatments were done causing it to grow back.

How Many Treatments Will I Need?

Most areas require 5 - 8 treatments. Ideally, they should be four to six weeks apart but not necessary. However, depending upon your skin tone, and hair colour and density, this may vary. Your technician will be able to provide you with a more precise estimate during your consultation.

How To Prepare Before Laser Hair Removal?

Please shave the area to be treated about 24 hours prior to the treatment.

Do not apply any lotions, creams or makeup on the area to be treated.

Do not wax or tweeze the area to be treated.

No tanning 4 weeks prior to treatment

During your first treatment your technician will provide detailed information on pre and post care procedures.

What does laser hair removal treatment feel like?

When a pulse is delivered, it feels like you are getting snapped by an elastic band. If you’ve ever waxed, then this will be a walk in the park for you. Laser hair removal is much less painful and much less aggressive. We adjust our settings based on your threshold because your body tells us what your skin really needs to respond in a safe and effective way. No local anesthesia or pain medication is necessary; it should never throw you off the bed like waxing. If you are at all at nervous we encourage you to talk to one of our certified estheticians because we can make treatments quite comfortable.

What happens after laser hair removal treatment?

The area might be slightly red and swollen immediately after hopping off the table. Three to seven days after treatment, you may experience what seems to be a regrowth of hair. Don’t panic! Most of these hairs are being shed as a result of the laser and aren’t actually sprouting up again. Between treatments, don’t wax or tweeze your hair as this can irritate the follicle. It’s totally fine to shave though.

What are the possible side effects of laser hair removal?

The most common side effects are slight reddening and local swelling of the skin, very similar to sunburn. However, these effects usually only last for a few hours or less. In rare instances, blistering may occur, although this isn’t likely. Very few patients experience side effects, but it could depend on your hair thickness and the area being treated. Consult with our certified esthetician for complete information on the benefits and risks of laser hair removal that correspond with your skin type.

How does laser hair removal compare with electrolysis?

Electrolysis is not pleasant. It’s a tedious, invasive and painful process that involves inserting a needle into each individual hair follicle and administering an electrical charge to them one at a time. Electrolysis often requires years of treatments at regular intervals. Laser hair removal delivers light energy to hundreds of hair follicles at a time, allowing it to effectively treat an area in just seconds that would take over an hour with electrolysis.
